Since 2019, the Montreal Canadiens have proudly hosted a beehive on the Bell Centre roof each year, helping support pollinator populations and biodiversity in Greater Montreal. In addition to having a positive impact on the environment and society, this initiative actively contributes to creating a more sustainable city and food systems.

Key Achievements:

  • Bee hotels have been installed in the Rio Tinto courtyard to provide habitat for solitary bees, promoting the presence of pollinators in the urban environment.
  • Workshops are offered to employees to better understand the role of bees and the honey extraction process, promoting knowledge of local biodiversity.
  • Available spaces around the Bell Centre have been greened, helping create more welcoming environments for local flora and fauna.
Did You Know?

Did you know that each bee in our hive is a foraging champion? With 37,500 workers, they’ve explored 65,000 km² — more than 8,500 Bell Centre ice rinks — to support urban biodiversity. Encourage them by keeping spaces clean during your visit!
