The Bell Centre is proud to be LEED Gold certified since December 2022! 🌱 LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the international benchmark for sustainable and high-performance buildings, recognized in over 130 countries.

CThis certification evaluates a building’s performance across six key areas: water efficiency, energy efficiency, material selection, ecological site planning, indoor air quality, and location and accessibility to transportation. Every action taken at the Bell Centre under The Goal is Green program aims to maximize sustainability and provide a healthier environment for all.

Key Achievements:

  • Since the 2023-24 season, we have gradually increased our participation in injecting renewable natural gas (RNG) into the Énergir network, going from 25% of our annual natural gas consumption in 2023-24 to 50% in 2024-25, and aiming for 75% in 2025-26, to support the transition to more sustainable energy sources and reduce our carbon footprint.
  • The vast majority of toilet and faucet installations are equipped with optimized flow devices, significantly reducing water consumption.
  • The entire building is equipped with an automatic control system (SCAB), allowing real-time monitoring and regulation of ventilation and temperature systems.
  • For several years, we have reduced energy consumption for indoor lighting in the arena through energy efficiency studies and the installation of LED bulbs for ice lighting. In parallel, lighting modernization throughout the Bell Centre is progressing gradually, allowing for the replacement of energy-intensive fixtures and improved energy efficiency.
  • Air quality studies are conducted to maintain a healthy and safe environment for all.
